Easily the best menú we’ve had to date and some of the best food we’ve had in Spain, Delicat is a real find for anyone visiting Valencia. The food is international over a subtle Spanish background with a strong inclination towards Asian cuisines, and it is outstanding. Tucked in on a tree-lined street, with clean and simple decor, we owe our discovery of Delicate to the folks at Gourmet Valencia, and what a discovery it was.

So here’s the deal: 4 courses, plus dessert, for 12 euro. What’s the catch? Well, the only catch is that the 4 course menu is completely fixed, there is one dish available for each course, and that’s what you get. If you are super picky, the menú at Delicat might not be for you. If you are somewhat picky but fairly flexible, Catina and Paco, the kind and attentive husband and wife team behind Delicat, are happy to make minor modifications to the dishes in order to accommodate you.

To assure yourself a table, a reservation is absolutely required, and at least several days in advance if you are particular about the date and time. The dining room at Delicat is intimate and the demand for seats defiantly exceeds the supply. In the evenings, there is a full menu from which you can choose what you like, the prices are more than reasonable, even a la carte, especially considering the imagination and meticulous care that goes into the food. So for a fantastic meal made with killer instincts for combining techniques and flavors, day or night, dine at Delicat.
